Zwischen Nähe und Distanz: Konstruktion von Wirklichkeiten. Von Goya bis Picasso
Angesichts der gewaltigen Bilderflut, die uns täglich umgibt, stellt sich die Frage: Welche Darstellungen bleiben im Gedächtnis, was berührt uns? Anknüpfend an den Schwerpunkt des Zentralabiturs im Fach Kunst stellt diese Graphik-Präsentation unterschiedliche künstlerische Strategien und Blickwinkel einander gegenüber. Die Auswahl umfasst Arbeiten, die mit zweideutigen Situationen den Blick öffnen.
Zu sehen sind Werke von Ernst Barlach, Peter Doig, Elger Esser, Francisco de Goya, Emil Hünten, Jenny Holzer, Käthe Kollwitz, Wilhelm Morgner, Pablo Picasso, Gerhard Richter, Theodor Rocholl, Anna Vogel und Markus Vater.

In sieben Kapiteln verfolgt die aus der Museumssammlung kuratierte Ausstellung «Bild und Blick – Sehen in der Moderne» die Herausforderungen, die das 20. Jahrhundert für den Rezipienten bereithält. Welche Rolle wird dem Betrachter zugewiesen, wenn die Leinwand nicht mehr als «ein offenes Fenster» fungiert, als die sie der bedeutende Kunsthistoriker Leon Battista Alberti im 15. Jahrhundert postulierte?
